In 2007, FOCSP’s Gift Shop formally opened for business after the completion of an extensive renovation to the upper level of the former Park Office. The idea of a store was thought possible and made into a reality because of the insight and dedicated efforts of Warren Werntz, the Park staff, Charlie McClintock, Dave Carbaugh, Boyd Sherman and several other FOCSP volunteers.
Part of the Gift Shop is also home of the Codorus State Park Museum. This venture is a partnership with Codorus State Park & FOCSP to display donated artifacts that were found on the Codorus site and to educate the general public with information about the Project 70 development and the Mary Ann Furnace. If you are are interested in knowing the details on how the Park came into existence, here is the place where you can get that information. DVDs about the park history are also available for sale.
The Gift Shop tailors its product line towards the interests and needs of the people who visit the Park. It offers a wide variety of items such as:
Camping Supplies
RV Supplies
Fishing Supplies
T Shirts and Sweatshirts
Children’s Books & Toys
Snacks & Drinks
Gifts & Novelty Items
You can also find all kinds of information there about ongoing programs and special events sponsored by the park and the Friends group. Maps, fishing and boating information are also available.
Currently, the Gift Shop is managed Bob Larsen, who oversees a staff of volunteers who keep regular weekly hours, depending on the season. Current store hours are located on this website's sidebar. Stop in to visit. And thank you for your patronage.
FOCSP OUTPOST STORE
Located near the campground contact station, lies two small buildings that house the Outpost Campground Store. An extension of our Gift Shop, the Outpost is staffed by a group of dedicated volunteers who keep store hours throughout the campground season. The Outpost is managed by Bob Larsen with the help of numerous volunteers. Hours listed on website sidebar.
The Outpost offers many of the same items as our Gift Shop but with a focus more towards the camping community. For instance, the Outpost is the only place within the Park where you can buy firewood. An effort that requires Park staff and numerous FOCSP volunteers for wood cutting, splitting, hauling and stacking duties and is conducted practically year round to keep up with demands. Self Service wood and ice sales are now available directly across from the Outpost Store.
The Outpost carries a variety of items; fire starters, flashlights, batteries, tent pegs, soda, water and ice cream, to name a few!
